We kick things off with fall open gyms and may do a player evaluation day this season. The evaluation day will help us to determine the best way to develop each player throughout the season. It will also  help with determining what level league or tournaments a team should play at.

Our team practices begin in late October or early November and typically are 2 times a week and can be fluid in terms of time as we use district facilities so High School and Middle School sports our first priority. Unfortunately we cannot work on practice schedules until late September.

Our teams typically play in the Badger Developmental league (BDL) that is hosted by communities in and around the Madison area. We too will try to host a  BDL date for each age group.  When we host we do ask for volunteers as the current fees only cover a portion of everything we do as a club. Jobs are very simple and easy and are typically 2 hours in length. You do have the option during registration to buy out from volunteering for $100.00.  With that said if the majority of people choose to buy out it is unlikely we would be able to host a home event.  Teams may also play in local tournaments outside of the BDL schedule.

In age groups where we do not have enough players to form two teams or do not have enough coaching help to do two teams we will use a pod system. The pod system will send a different 8-9 girls to different events so coaches are able to get everyone game time.  It is very hard to rotate 11-13 players in a game and give them a good experience. We will explain this in more detail at our parent meeting but the goal is to still get each girl 15-20 games.

Our Middle School age teams are preparing players for what lies ahead at the High School level. Coaches will compete to win whenever possible and all playing time will be earned and decided upon by the coaches. It will be fair but fair does not always mean equal.

Attending practice is important for the overall development of each player and directly impacts the overall success a team will have.
